Use pageQ
in place of your regular browser while researching. You can do everything
you need to do with it. Then when you find an interesting page
capture it with the camera
icon and carry on. PageQ only saves the url so you always get
the latest information. You can have a number of session of
open at any time and cut and paste between them.  |

You can
password protect the Qs you create and upload to the Q Community. Choose File, Q Properties. |
| Organize your
favorites |
Your existing
favorites are available in pageQ. Start making Qs from your
favorites. Have a good cleanout. You will be surprised how much
better organized you will become. You will also discover new
and powerful ways to use and to share your knowledge.
Create a series of Qs by subject area and save them in the new
"My Qs" folder in favorites. Open a new Q and select the pageQ
Favorites menu item. You can drag and drop entries from the
Favorites list to the Q tree, double click an entry, or highlight
the entry and press include. Hey presto - new Q. |

favorites |
Rather than
send a list of URLs to a friend or colleague, create a
Q with the same URLs and email it to them. (Menu Publish-Emai Q). You can also include Notes on each
page. Your friend will find it easier to Play the html Q than
laboriously click on each URL in a list. |
| Put your Qs
on the Web |
Use Menu Publish-Upload Q to Community (quick key Ctrl Y) to upload your Qs to the Q db Community. You will be sent an email to activate the Q. Then it is available for search by other users.
Search the Q db Community for Qs that interest you. Once you have downloaded them you can later them and save locally on your pc, email to a friend or upload to the Q db Community. |
| Multiple windows |
All pageQ versions allow you to have more than one Q open
at a time. This is useful for advanced editing e.g. copying
portions of one Q to another. The windows can be sized so individual
entries can be dragged from one Q to another. |
| Q tree manipulation |
By now you
are no doubt familiar with saving, cataloguing and sending Qs.
A few hints on the Q Tree, as it has a quirky nature. There
are a number of techniques for manipulating the Q tree. Before
you use the Record (Ctrl+R) function, highlight where you want
the new entry added in the tree. If that's not possible (as
clicking on another entry in the tree will move away the page
you want to grab!), just hit Record anyway. Then move the entry
where you want it using drag and drop. You will notice it becomes
a child of the entry you dropped it on. Drag it back on top
again and it goes to the same level. Alternatively you can nest
as deep as you like. I like to use Separator pages 
(Ctrl+D) to logically group pages and make them children of
the Separator. You can also change the name a Q entry has by
right clicking on an item or hit Ctrl+B or double click a tree
item. If you have the Pro version you can change the duration
of an item, overriding the default Q duration set in Q Properties.
While you play the Q you will see on the status bar a countdown
timer that tells you how much longer the current page will display
for. |
| Q Properties |
The option
File, Q Properties (Ctrl+A) controls a number of the properties
of the Qs that you create. The Q Title, Date, Author
and Organization fields are optional, but if filled in will
appear on the title page. The EMail and Web Site fields also
appear on the title page if filled in, as links. If a viewer
clicks on the Email link, a new note pops up in their mail client
addressed to the email id. If they click on the web site link,
that page opens in a new IE window |

Use the
right mouse in the web window. Here you get other Internet Explorer
menu options like save a page to favorites etc... |
| Demo Mode |
You can
create an html Q then play it in full screen mode with a small
player toolbar at the top. Select View, Full Screen F11 from
the IE browser menus. Using the Loop button will make the Q
continuously play. |

Screen Resolution |
1024 x 768
minimum screen resolution is recommended. This allows you to
have the Tree and Web Window open without horizontal scroll
bar. |
| Launch all |
The launch
all function is useful if you have a slow dial up line. Hit
the button then get a coffee while all the pages load in individual
windows. Be careful as it uses a lot of resources to load web
pages. So choose a modest size Q and insure your computer has
enough memory. |
| Web Presentation |
Use pageQ
to create a web presentation tailored for your specific audience.
Use pages from your web site or other sites, add notes and save. If you save as an html Q you can send direct to your customers and they don't need pageQ to play. |
| History Dialog |
The pageQ
History dialog, saves a record of your browsing (while you browse
in IE and/or pageQ). If you are doing research on the net, you
can use the pageQ History dialog to retrieve pages you previously
looked at and put them directly into a Q. Once again you can
drag and drop, double click and entry, or highlight the entry
and press include. Qs that you save in the My Qs folder will
launch automatically. You can of course save them in any folder
on your PC, or put them on your desktop, and they will also
launch automatically. |

The pageQ
Wizard (menu Help, Help Wizard) is worth a look. There is a
simple tutorial, extensive help, faqs and a demo Q to play with. |
| Faster surfing
on dial up line |
If you visit
a few sites every day then Launch All is the function you need.
Put these sites into a Q or html Q and hit the Launch all button.
Then go and have a coffee. While you are away your computer
will open each page in a new IE window ready to browse. Just
beware with large Qs as each process is competing for computer
resources so it may take some time to load! |
